Check what sorts of incidents are covered
Pet insurance covers a wide range of incidents, including accidents, illness, dental work, breed-specific conditions, and even wellness.
Some policies are accident-only, which means your pet will only be covered if there is a mishap, such as chocolate poisoning or being hit by a vehicle.
These plans, however, will not cover you if your pet becomes ill, such as with a tumor or infection.
Higher levels of pet insurance may cover breed-specific or genetic conditions such as allergies or breathing problems.
They will also cover dental work and even wellness services such as vaccinations and deworming.
It’s critical to estimate how much you’ll spend on various incidents over the years and consider how much you’re willing to pay in premiums to protect your pet against these.
